Industrial Constant Wattage Heat Trace Cables

Chromalox CWM Constant Wattage Heat Trace Cable is engineered for industrial process temperature maintenance and freeze protection where consistent watt density is required. Its parallel heating core provides uniform thermal output along the cable length, with field-configurable circuits up to 780 ft (238 m) from a single power point. The cable can be cut to length and field-spliced, providing installation flexibility around piping and complex fittings. Designed for 120–480 V operation, CWM features 392°F (200°C) fluoropolymer insulation for excellent electrical and thermal performance. With constant heat output, zero startup inrush, and third-party approvals for harsh corrosive and hazardous areas, CWM is well suited for demanding industrial and higher-temperature heat tracing applications.

Features

  • Uniform thermal output, low energy costs
  • Maximum exposure temperature, power off, 392°F (200°C)
  • 120, 208-277 and 480V
  • For use on metallic pipes
  • Consult factory for use on plastic piping
  • Steam Cleanable on Process Equipment Up to 190 PSIG (Power Off)
  • Durable, non-aging fluoropolymer jacket ensures long service life and can be used in some hostile environments
  • Flexible, easy to install on most equipment and delivers long-term reliable performance

Industrial Self-Regulating Heat Trace Cables

Chromalox® SRL Self-Regulating Heating Cable provides safe and reliable freeze protection and temperature maintenance for pipes, valves, tanks, and industrial equipment. Its self-regulating technology automatically adjusts heat output in response to temperature changes along the cable length. Flexible and easy to install, SRL cable can be cut to length, field-spliced, and single-overlapped without burnout. Designed for 120 and 208–277 V, it is third-party tested and approved for ordinary, harsh corrosive, and hazardous area applications.

Features

  • For Use on Metal and Plastic Pipes
  • Energy efficient, self-regulating SRL heat trace cable uses less energy when less heat is required
  • Easy to install, SRL can be cut to any length (up to max. circuit length) in the field
  • Field splices can be performed easily in minutes with no scrap or wasted cold sections
  • SRL features lower installed cost than steam tracing, less maintenance expense and less downtime
  • SRL can be single overlapped without burnout, which simplifies heat tracing of in-line process equipment such as valves, elbows and pumps

Industrial Mineral Insulated Heat Trace Cables

Chromalox mineral insulated heating cables (MI cables) provide rugged and reliable heat tracing for a variety of demanding applications. The high nickel alloy sheath, magnesium oxide dielectric insulation and resistance wire construction allow the tracing of equipment up to 1100°F maintenance temperatures and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. At lower temperatures, watt densities of up to 50 W/Ft can be designed. Please contact factory for cable maintenance temperature above 400°F. MI cables are the most rugged heating cable in Chromalox’s product line. Constructed of a solid series resistor element embedded in highly compacted mineral insulation, MI cables are built to handle high temperature, high wattage applications.

Features

  • Constant Wattage Series Resistance Heating Cable Sets
  • Large number of available resistances
  • 4 ft (1.2m) long cold-lead standard
  • Highly compacted Magnesium Oxide provides insulation of the resistance wire for voltages up to 600V
  • Process Temperature Maintenance to 1100°F (593° C)
  • Maximum Exposure Temp, Power Off, 1200°F (648° C)
